Privacy Policy

Overgrow is built so the most personal thing it touches, the apps you use and how long you use them, stays on your phone. This policy explains exactly what stays on your device, the small amount of anonymous data we collect to improve the app, and what we never do.
What never leaves your device
Overgrow uses Apple's Screen Time framework (Family Controls) to read how long you spend on the apps you choose to block, and to enforce your limits. Apple keeps this data private to your phone, and Overgrow works with it entirely on your device.
- The specific apps and categories you choose to block. We never see them, and they are never uploaded.
- Your per-app, minute-by-minute Screen Time. Overgrow reads it on your device to grow your garden, and never sends it anywhere.
What we collect
To understand how Overgrow is used and to make it better, we collect anonymous product analytics through PostHog, our analytics provider. None of it identifies you. Specifically:
- Which features you use and how far you get through setup, so we can see where the app helps and where it gets confusing.
- The limits you set as plain numbers, like how many unlocks a day and how long each one lasts. Never the names of your apps.
- App and subscription events, like starting a free trial, subscribing, or restoring a purchase.
- A once-a-day summary: your garden score for the day, and the total number of minutes you spent on your blocked apps against the budget you set. This is a single total for the day, never a breakdown by app.
- Basic device and app information, like your iOS version and app version.
This data is not linked to your name, your email, or your Apple ID. Overgrow has no accounts and asks for no personal details. We do not collect your advertising identifier (IDFA), and we do not track you across other apps or websites. Everything above is tied only to a random, anonymous identifier created on your device, which you can reset at any time by deleting and reinstalling the app.
Subscriptions
Overgrow subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes your payment. We never see or store your payment details. You can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your iOS Settings.
How your data is handled
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. The anonymous analytics described above are processed on our behalf by PostHog and stored in the United States. That is the only third party that receives any data from the app, and only the anonymous events listed here.
Data retention
Because these analytics are anonymous, the events are not tied to you and cannot be traced back to your identity. We keep them to understand product trends over time.
Children
Overgrow is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Overgrow handles data, we will update this page and the date above.
